Keep Your Commitment To Your Workout

Commitment is an agreement or pledge to do something in the future. It is a state or an instance of being obligated or emotionally impelled. Your foundation to transformation is commitment. The truth is only one-third of those who begin an exercise program are still exercising by the end of their first year.

One

Viisualize yourself and how you will look in two months time if you continue with the lifestyle you are leading today. Then visualize in detail how you will look and feel in two months if you begin a regular exercise program today. Keep the future in the front of your mind.

Exercise is not something anyone can do for you. If you haven't exercised for weeks, months or years even, don't think that you will never do. The choice is entirely up to you. Think of yourself as this new person, full of energy, who wants a fit body. Become relentless about it and pursue it at all costs until you attain it. Do not accept any other outcome except to succeed.

If your health and fitness are a priority to you, put them high on your list. Keep your exercise appointments religiously, the same way you would keep a doctors appointment.

If you miss one workout, don't make it too. Don't let the guilt take over and make you passive. Immediately plan your next workout and stick to it no matter what. You will feel so much better by doing so.

Look for evidence that your workout is working. You are moving better now, posture is improved, you are feeling less bloated, pants are getting loose, energy is up, metabolism is kicking in and you are attaining a firmer, fitter more defined body. Continue to reinforce the positive results by engaging in regular exercise. You can even take monthly photos. The pictures let you see changes over time. Often change is gradual and we don't see the difference from day to day.

You had a huge pizza and ice cream for dinner last night? Don't let that bring you down and stop you from exercising again. Get up and get moving as nothing has happened. Every day you have a new opportunity to make improvements in your body. Always remember that.

Seven

Keep in mind that this is not a competition or a race. This is your life. Don't be hard on yourself. Do your best in every workout. Know your limits and stay within your means. Fatigue, insomnia, irritability, and elevated resting heart rate are all signs of overdoing it.

Eight

Don't fool youself by finding 'clever' excuses to justify missed exercise sessions. Be true to yourself and admit your lack of commitment. Your life is full and demanding, i am sure, but wouldn’t you be better able to handle all of life’s events in a fit and strong body?

Commitment is a matter of choice. When you want to quit, stay. Practice, practice, practice. Become responsible for your own body, get unstuck right now and get where you want to be physically. Focus on the outcomes and the transformation exercise can bring to your body and your life. There is not a better time that now to lead a more fullfilled life.
