Maxim Carbo Cake is a delicious sports cake, rich in carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the most important energy source used by the human body during exercise. Research has shown that a limited supply of carbohydrates in the muscles (glycogen) is one of the most limiting factors regarding performance. It is very important for an athlete to consume enough carbohydrates, a couple of hours before exercise as well as in the daily diet.
Maxim Carbo Cake is ideal to optimise the glycogen stores in the muscles before exercise. One portion will give you approximately 100 g carbohydrates. One portion is 1/3 Carbo Cake and equals almost 7 slices of bread! The product is especially suitable as a carboloader before competition, but could also be used as a snack during exercise.

Ingredients

How To Use
- Before the race: Prepare the Carbo Cake one day before exercise, preferably in the morning (see guidelines on the packaging). Slice the cake after it has cooled. Use the Carbo Cake as an addition to your regular meals; consume the cake between lunch and diner (1/3 cake) and after diner (1/3 cake) the day before competition. Consume on the competition day 1/3 of the cake up to 2 to 3 hours before exercise. This will ensure a maximum energy stock at the beginning of your competition.
- Daily use: The delicious cake is also a good product to increase your daily carbohydrate intake. You can use it during the day as a snack (1/6 cake) to go with your coffee or even take it with you during exercise as a welcome change to an energy bar. 1/6 Carbo Cake will provide you about 50 g carbohydrates, this equals 3 slices of bread!!
Directions
- Preheat the oven (160ºC). Put the contents of the sachet in a bowl. Add 225 ml water and mix it to a nice smooth substance using a fork, beater or a mixer. Pour the dough in a greased mould (20 cm diameter) and place it in the middle of the preheated oven. Bake the cake for 40-50 minutes on 160 ºC.
