Reflex Micellar Casein
Reflex Micellar Casein provides a lengthy release of amino acids because of its unique digestibility. It forms a gel in the stomach, slowing the transit time in the digestive system thus slowing the digestion of the protein.
This makes Micellar Casein ideal when a slow and lengthy supply of protein is needed. Reflex Micellar Casein is manufactured by ultra filtration of skimmed milk - this process removes excess lactose and fat. The resulting raw material is about 85% protein.
In a ground breaking study, carried out by Dr Yves Boire, the differences in metabolic responses of whey protein and casein were individually observed over a 7 hour period in 16 young & healthy volunteers. The findings were very interesting, and have shown that both Casein and Whey have very different applications when it comes to maintaining and building muscle tissue.

Tastes a bit plain, but does the trick and at a reasonable price. Apparently the Micellar Casein type of protein is the most potent and natural variety of Casein Protein available on the market, so I highly recommend it.

I debated over this product and the USN Casein. Went for this as it's only 160 calories, but 34g of protein. It's low in carb and low and fat too, so ideal before bed.
Mixes reasonably well but can get a bit thick. I'm seeing good results although only been back in the gym for 2 weeks now.
I use a scale to measure out the powder though as I find the scoop is inaccurate (serving is too small). It does however mean you get less than the stated 30 servings.
Overall good product and good value for money

i always take a serving before bed and i never feel hungry upon waking so it is perfect for not losing valuable gains! However, i would mix with milk, as the taste is pretty poor with water. The 909g tub has a very narrow opening, so it is difficult to get your servings out without making a mess (seriously) so i would go for the bigger tub if you can afford it.

Yes it will absolutley keep you from waking up in the middle of the night and you will also be able to have a normally paced breakfast the next morning rather than a rushed one because you are starving.
For mixing, a blender will give you the best result, but a shaker will do the job as well it just takes longer.
Now for the taste it is acctually ok concidering it is a casein based product so you will get the taste of "quark" in the backround, if you dont know what quark is pop into your main supermarket and pick up a small tub for 60 or 70 pence from the dairy ailse. The instructions ask you to mix it with 450ml of water and add 3 heaped scoops ( the scoop is about half the size of whey protein scoops) but it still leaves you with rather a lot of shake right before bed time and if you cant finish it in about 5 minutes it will start to become quite thick, but with what is out there this is my best buy.

Seriously good taste especially the banana it just like a shakle you'd buy in sainsburys!!! Yummed this down before bedtime and for the first time in a couple of months I didn't wake at 3am starving. Well done Reflex and thank you, no more kitchen visits in the middle of the night.

I dont usually review products but after the service i've recieved from dolphin i thought i would. I've had a struggle to find a decent casein and my search ends here it works perfectly, it doesn't give me digestion problems and i'm loving the taste all in all a great product.

If only the taste and consistency of this were better, it works a treat but i don't think i'm going to continue using as it's just foul tasting and grainy even after shaking for ages!

Not many Casein products to choose from but this seems to be the best. It's taste takes some getting used to so approach with caution if your fuusy in this area. Also the consistency is far from perfect but all these things aside the results are what matters for me and it certainly delivers in this department so I'll happliy put up with the small downsides.

Reflex is a trustworthy brand with a great rep and great packaging and i really wanted to like this. Unfortunaly it just too thick it's like drinking a pot of thick paint!! The taste is pretty similar as well (have they tasted Bananas?) I couldn't tell you about the performance as i was unable to keep this down. Shame because i was looking forward to another great product from Reflex.
