- Can I take whey protein if I am lactose intolerant?
- Yes and no. You should avoid products that contain concentrate. These will typically contain anywhere from 5-15% lactose. The good news is that you can benefit from taking products that contain pure isolate, which usually only contain a maximum of 0.5-1% lactose. With me being a coeliac, I have been on a search for a whey protein that isnt more hassle than its worth. I have only come across two which fit this criteria, Reflex Micro Whey and CNP Whey. The CNP seems to do other strange things to me so that leaves me with the only remaining logical choice being this. It mixes well and tastes pleasant enough, but we are not taking it for the taste really are we.
On the subject of whey proteins, I have never gone by the label, but by personal experience. There are a few proteins which claim to be ok for a gluten free diet which are pretty certainly not. The above two are the only ones that I have found which do not affect me in any way so far.

I mixes better than the other powders i've tried (not that many i'm new to this), and with water makes a very thin liquid. With Soya milk it was slightly more creamy. Its very sticky like sherbert & if you get a lump of powder on your tongue it will be stuck round your mouth for a while! Didn't mix to well with porridge, texture wasn't very nice.
As for its effectiveness, i find it hard to tell to be honest, plus i've only been taking this one a couple of weeks.
The taste is very sweet but a nice vanilla taste. When mixed with water it was like drinking a sugar water, but with the soya milk the sweetness was less.
My main reason for chosing this one was the ratio of calories to protein. 110 calories for 25g protein which is one of the best i have found for myself, trying not to take on too many extra calories.
The only thing that might put me off buying again is the sweetness but if i don't mind adding a few extra calories from unsweetened soya milk i think i'll stick with this.

This product tastes really good, mixes well and has no bloating after taking. Also good for people on a diet as it fills you up before meals. Very good product.

This product is very tasty and digested well. My suger level did rise a lot after drinking this, as a diabetic this was alarming as the contents said nearly no carbs or sugar?????

As I am Lactose Intolerant, I needed a very low lactose / no lactose whey for everyday use that did not break the bank. Tried Egg and Soy proteins but egg protein is not good on the budget and soy protein is not good on the taste buds for me. After some research I decided to give Reflex Micro Whey a try. What can I say, mixes great, tastes good and no stomach issues...Thanks Reflex and thanks Dolphin Fitness for a great price and service.

High rate of protein and vanilla flavour very pleasant; mixes well with various fruits to make some excellent smoothies (blueberry in particular).

Mixes well, tastes OK. I've been on this one for about a year now and I'm still able to drink it two or three times a day. Usually by now I'd be sick of the taste but this one doesn't taste bad, and doesn't have too much flavour.
