USN Recover Xcell is a post training recovery drink, and comprehensive energy, amino acid and electrolyte replacement drink to use during long periods of intense physical activity.
The nutrient requirement in athletes is highest immediately after intense and prolonged physical activity. The 30 - 45 minute window after training or events is a crucial time during which the body races to recover as quickly as possible. The body’s evolutionary instinct to immediately replace muscle glycogen (our first and main source of energy) means that it will use whatever nutrients are available, including amino acids present in muscle tissue, resulting in muscle wastage. I really like the taste of this product and I do believe it does aid in muscle repair. I do a lot of HIIT training and when drinking this after a work out, I feel quite energized for the next day's HITT session although bare in mind that it will not completely stop all of your muscle aches. But when I did not drink this for a week, my muscles felt quite tired and I couldn't put my full effort into my training. All I know is that it works for me and I will continue to use this product. I would use 2 scoops rather then the recommended 3 as it becomes too sweet for me but each to their own.

I've written this in response to a review i spotted that suggests problems with mixing. Initially, I too had a few problems with the mixing. Like the other customers the drink frothed, didn't dissolve completely and didn't taste that great either. This normally happened if i mixed the drink immediatley after exercise and didn't give it a chance to settle. However, I now mix the drink before i exercise and allow it time to settle or dissolve. As a result the recovery drink tastes perfectly ok and there is no froth or dissolving issues.

Not The Best For Mixing

I was looking forward to trying USN Recover Xcell and was disappointed when I mixed it. When you shake it in a drinks shaker or even a blender it froths alot (6 inches of froth) and never settles. So you only end up drinking about a third or half the contents which is the liquid below the froth at the bottom.
It also doesnt mix properly and there are many lumps in the bottom of the shaker.
The drink (orange flavour) does taste ok.
I have been using powdered drinks for 20 years and have never found one that doesn't mix like this.

Really good taste and easy to mix and its easy on the stomach.I use it as a recovery drink but also good pre exercise.
